Hand-hewn timbers are simply the apex of reclaimed lumber. They simply offer character, color, and a story from pioneer times that no other type of lumber does. These timbers feature tighter grain because the trees used were often virgin timber. These timbers often predate saws, and were shaped with wedges, axes, and hewing adzes. Every timber is unique in size. Applications for these timbers include mantels, wall accents, ceiling accents, gazebos, and many other uses. When available these beams come in lengths up to 50’ long and offer all different dimensions. When available, species include oak, hickory, and other species of lumber.
